150 g or 1 kg?

How much coffee you need depends on the brewing method you use and how much coffee you consume each day.

Fresh roast coffee beans are essential to a quality cup, so buy your coffee in small amounts, ideally every two weeks.

*We recommend a ratio of 30 g of coffee grounds for every 500 ml water for plunger or paper filters. Commonly use between 15-20 g per double shot for espresso machines.

Whole Beans or Coffee Grinds?

Full flavor starts with fresh coffee, we recommend starting with whole beans and grinding them fresh every time you brew. Always use a burr grinder ( flat or conical ) to grind your coffee, NOT blade grinders. We encourage you to invest in a quality coffee grinder if you haven't already. That being said, if you need coffee grinds we are happy to pre-ground for you. It’s worthwhile noting that we use a generic grind setting for each brewing style that is designed to suit most people. There is always an exception where our designated setting will not match your requirements. This is one of the limitations of pre-grinding coffee. How to store coffee?

The best way to preserve your coffee fresh is to store them in an opaque, airtight container away from sunlight, heat, and moisture at room temperature.

*Grind them fresh every time you brew.

*Don’t store your beans in the fridge/ freezer.

*Don't drop all beans in grinder hopper to get stale waiting for your grind.

How long will coffee stay fresh?

The beans generally are good from day two for the filter coffee, about a week old beans are at their peak for the espresso coffee, and then begin declining in quality after 2-3 weeks. This doesn't mean your coffee goes off after 2 weeks, it's just not quite as flavorful. Drink to your taste and taste every day to get a sense of where the beans go and what you prefer.

Shipping Info

Our goal is to get your order to you as quickly as possible.

Our delivery targets:

Nationwide Delivery (Non-Rural): Next working day,
Rural Delivery: Extra 2 - 3 working days.

We only roast to your order, orders before 5pm will be generally roasted the same day and will be dispatched the same day or the next day. Delivery is between Monday and Friday.

We deliver to almost everywhere within NZ, including both residential and business addresses, and rural addresses. Rural customers are required to indicate rural postage, check if your delivery address is a Rural Address. Enter your address in the box and enjoy CourierPost shipping services. Incorrectly marked parcels may be delayed and risk being unable to be delivered. For most locations, our coffee arrives at you between 1-2 working days after it has been dispatched. Rural deliveries typically take Additional 1-3 working days to be delivered after it has dispatched from Dairy Beanz. On occasion, due to circumstances beyond our control, our delivery period may take longer than this, but please know we’re hustling. We will be able to track where your order is for you at any time.

In-Store Pick-Up

Claim your order FREE of delivery charges from our store near you.

You have the option to pick up from our store, free of delivery charges as part of our Online Shop service. Select 'In-Store Pick-Up' at the checkout-"Choose a delivery option" when placing your order. Please wait for a notification before picking up your order. Your order confirmation and ID will be needed for pickup.

International Shipping

We do not offer international shipping through this website, as the costs to consumers are high. Please contact us at shop@dairybeanz.co.nz, if you wish to place an order for international delivery.

Payment Options

We accept payment via credit card and PayPal.

All transactions are in New Zealand dollars (NZD). All personal information, address, email, credit card and must be filled out correctly.

Return & cancellation policy

At Dairy Beanz, we put our heart and soul into everything we do, from green beans selection, roasting, packaging, and delivery is the best we can make it at this stage. We want you to be happy with your Dairy Beanz experience.

COFFEE - If you've made a mistake with your order, please let us know as fast as humanly possible. We often ship the same day an order is received, and we only roast coffee beans to your order, so once it's been roasted or ground, or an order has been shipped we are past the point of no return and are unable to cancel your order.

To cancel an order phone and/or email us as soon as possible.

Canceled orders will be refunded in full. This means whatever we charged you, we’ll reverse payment to you using the same means of payment.

If you were dissatisfied with your coffee, our expert customer support team will help you find the coffee that matches your taste and brewing method.

EVERYTHING ELSE - Some Equipment may take up to 8-15 working days depending on availability and manufacturing. You will be contacted within 24 hours upon receiving your order if any of the items will be placed on backorder and to be informed of the expected delivery dates and to schedule the best time for your items to be delivered.

Any damages, returns or order discrepancies will need to be notified within 5 working days of the delivery of any order. Claims made outside this time frame will not be accepted. Pricing is subject to change without notice. Returned stock outside of the 5 days will be subject to administrative charges. Incorrectly ordered or unwanted items will need to be shipped back at the purchaser's expense and will incur a restocking fee. These goods need to be in a good sellable condition, all items returned for refund must be returned in the original condition with tags attached (unless faulty). Please ensure all returned items are free from marks, stains and rips as they may not be accepted for return if received damaged (unless faulty).

Boxed/Packaged Goods: When returning boxed or packaged goods please ensure you pack them inside a satchel & do not attach anything to the outside of the original packaging. Should the packaging be marked or in unsatisfactory condition there may be a chance that we will not accept your return.

No returns of any type will be accepted without a return authorization. There is also a TERMS, CONDITIONS & WARRANTY on each product page. By placing an order, You accept the terms, conditions & warranty.

Once received in our warehouse, we will inspect and process the goods to ensure you receive your refund as quickly as possible. You will then receive an email to notify you that your return has been processed. Please allow 7-14 days for this email to arrive. (please note this is an estimate, some returns from New Zealand can take 3+ weeks) Rest assured we will email you once processed, so sit tight.

Important Information:

We recommend keeping a copy of your label and or getting a receipt at your local post office when you drop your package off. This provides us proof of the return if any issues were to arise with your return.
