A New Chapter Begins at Dairy Beanz

Dairy Beanz Team

Some deliveries arrive in a cardboard box.

Others arrive carrying years of experience, countless cups of coffee, and dreams that have slowly taken shape over time.

Recently, one of those dreams rolled through our door.

Our new coffee roaster has finally arrived.

It isn't roasting coffee just yet. Installation, testing, and calibration are still ahead of us.

But simply seeing it sitting in our roastery has already made us pause and reflect on how far this journey has come.

More Than Just a New Machine

To many people, a coffee roaster is simply another piece of equipment.

To a coffee roaster, it's the heart of everything.

Every decision—from airflow and drum speed to burner response and cooling efficiency—shapes the flavour that eventually ends up in someone's cup.

Choosing a new roaster was never about buying a larger machine.

It was about finding a better tool to continue pursuing the quality we believe our customers deserve.

Built Around Years of Experience

One of the things we're most excited about is that this wasn't simply an off-the-shelf purchase.

From the earliest conversations with the manufacturer, we shared ideas drawn from years of roasting experience.

We discussed details that many coffee drinkers may never notice but every roaster understands.

Some of those conversations led to refinements in the machine's design and roasting system.

The result is a roaster that feels uniquely ours—not because it was built from scratch, but because it was shaped by practical experience and thoughtful collaboration.

Every improvement has one purpose:

To help us roast coffee more consistently, more precisely, and with greater confidence.

Growth Without Changing Who We Are

As Dairy Beanz has grown, one thing has remained unchanged:

We roast coffee because we love the craft.

That philosophy won't change simply because our equipment has.

We'll continue using the roasting tools that best suit each coffee and each batch.

Sometimes that means roasting a larger batch.

Sometimes it means using a smaller machine for coffees produced in limited quantities or for profile development.

There is no "better" machine.

Only the right tool for the right purpose.

Our commitment remains exactly the same:

Roast thoughtfully.

Roast fresh.

Roast every coffee to express its own character.

Every Roaster Has Its Own Personality

Even the world's best coffee roaster doesn't produce great coffee on the first day.

Every machine behaves differently.

Heat transfers differently.

Airflow feels different.

Even familiar coffees respond in unexpected ways.

That's why the next few weeks won't simply be about making coffee.

They'll be about learning.

We'll spend hours seasoning the drum, building roast profiles, cupping samples, making adjustments, and repeating the process until every coffee tastes exactly as it should.

It's one of the most challenging—and most rewarding—parts of being a coffee roaster.

Looking Forward

New equipment doesn't change who we are.

It simply gives us better tools to continue doing what we've always believed in.

Fresh coffee.

Careful roasting.

Constant learning.

Never settling.

We're excited to begin roasting on this new machine, and even more excited to share the results with everyone who has supported Dairy Beanz along the way.

Thank You

Looking at this new roaster sitting quietly in our workshop, it's impossible not to think about the journey that brought us here.

As we stood quietly looking at the new roaster after it was finally in place, our thoughts weren't about stainless steel or new equipment. We were thinking about the journey that brought us here. Every challenge, every lesson, every early morning, every late night, every successful roast, and every mistake had become part of this moment.

Every bag of coffee you've purchased, every message you've sent, every recommendation you've shared with a friend has helped make this possible.

For that, we're incredibly grateful.

A Small Thank You to Our Local Community

Bringing a new coffee roaster into our shop was not a one-person job.

We would also like to give a special thank you to our neighbours who helped make this moment possible.

The team at the tile shop across the road kindly helped us lift the roaster out of its shipping crate using their forklift, and our neighbours from the bar next door gave us an extra pair of strong hands to carefully move the machine into its new home.

Moments like this remind us how special a local community can be. Behind every small business are often many people who quietly help along the way, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

Tomorrow we'll begin roasting again. Only this time, another chapter begins with us.
